Behind the Mask Healing Center partners with schools, organizations, and community leaders to deliver trauma-informed, experiential self-mastery education and training.

Our work supports emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and empowered decision-making — not as abstract lessons, but as lived practice embedded into environments already serving youth, families, and adults.

This is not a one-size-fits-all program.

It is a flexible self-mastery system designed to integrate seamlessly into your setting.

WHAT WE DELIVER

Behind the Mask delivers self-mastery education through movement, creativity, relationship, and real-life experience. Rather than pulling people out of their environments to “learn skills,” we embed emotional intelligence and nervous-system regulation into what they are already doing.

This approach allows learning to be:

  • Embodied rather than intellectual

  • Practiced during challenge, not after

  • Transferable to everyday life and relationships

Our work is rooted in five unchanging pillars:

  • 🔎Self-Awareness

  • 🫂Self-Compassion

  • 🥰Self-Acceptance

  • 🧠💞Emotional Regulation

  • 💪🏽Self-Empowerment

These pillars are not added on — they are experienced through the work itself.

Experiential Self-Mastery Education & Training

PROGRAM AREAS

Youth Self-Mastery Labs

(Experiential | Movement-Based | Creative | Academic-Adjacent)

Trauma-informed self-mastery programs for children and teens delivered in environments youth already trust.

Common delivery settings include:

  • Schools and after-school programs

  • Athletic teams and conditioning programs

  • Community and youth development organizations

Frameworks may include:

  • 🤼Movement and sports-based activities (wrestling, conditioning, team sports, group games)

  • 🎨Creative and expressive experiences (arts, reflection tools, identity-building activities)

  • 📚Academic-adjacent support (tutoring environments with regulation tools and mindful breaks)

Youth practice emotional regulation, self-awareness, and empowered decision-making in real time, while their nervous systems are engaged — making learning memorable and applicable.
