We partner with schools, organizations, and community leaders to help youth, families, and adults develop a healthier relationship with themselves through experiential self-mastery education.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief:
Everything changes when the relationship we have with ourselves changes.
When people understand themselves, accept themselves, and learn to meet themselves with greater awareness, compassion, and self-trust, healthier relationships, stronger decisions, and lasting growth naturally follow.
Through experiential self-mastery education, we help youth, families, adults, and organizations create meaningful opportunities for that transformation to occur.
This is not a one-size-fits-all program.
It is a flexible self-mastery system designed to integrate seamlessly into your setting.
Our Approach
Behind the Mask delivers self-mastery education through movement, creativity, relationship, reflection, and real-life experience.
Rather than pulling people out of their environments to "learn skills," we create opportunities for individuals to practice self-awareness, self-compassion, self-acceptance, emotional regulation, and self-trust while engaging in meaningful experiences.
This is where self-mastery moves beyond theory and becomes something people can experience, apply, and carry into everyday life.
This approach allows learning to be:
Embodied rather than intellectual
Practiced during challenge, not after
Transferable to everyday life and relationships
Our work is rooted in five unchanging pillars:
🔎Self-Awareness
🫂Self-Compassion
🥰Self-Acceptance
🧠💞Emotional Regulation
💪🏽Self-Empowerment
These pillars are not added on — they are experienced through the work itself.

How Transformation Happens

Three Pathways to Self-Mastery
Self-Mastery in Motion™
(The Body Becomes the Teacher)
Through movement, play, creativity, sports, and experiential challenges, participants practice self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and self-trust in real time.
Rather than learning about self-mastery from the sidelines, participants experience it while navigating challenge, competition, teamwork, decision-making, and personal growth.
Common delivery settings include:
Schools and after-school programs
Athletic teams and conditioning programs
Community and youth development organizations
Frameworks may include:
🤼Movement and sports-based activities (wrestling, conditioning, team sports, group games)
🎨Creative and expressive experiences (arts, reflection tools, identity-building activities)
📚Academic-adjacent support (tutoring environments with regulation tools and mindful breaks)
Participants practice emotional regulation, self-awareness, and empowered decision-making in real time, while their nervous systems are engaged — making learning memorable and applicable.

Self-Mastery in Connection™
(Relationships Become the Teacher)
Through shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and intentional connection, participants strengthen communication, empathy, trust, and emotional awareness within relationships.
These experiences create opportunities to practice self-mastery not in isolation, but alongside others—where many of life's most meaningful lessons naturally unfold.
Examples include:
🎣Mindfulness-based fishing experiences
⚽Family kickball and movement experiences
🕯️Creative bonding experiences such as candle-making
The focus is on:
Shared regulation
Slowing down together
Practicing presence and communication in relationship
Same pillars. Different intention.
(The Inner World Becomes the Teacher)
Through reflection, education, healing, and guided self-discovery, participants deepen self-awareness, self-compassion, emotional intelligence, and self-trust.
This pathway creates space to explore the relationship we have with ourselves, strengthen our capacity for self-leadership, and develop the inner resources needed to navigate life with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.
Offerings may include:
💼Professional development workshops
🤱🏽Parenting and caregiver trainings
🫂Healing circles and group process spaces
💞🧠Emotional intelligence and nervous-system education
Heart-centered regulation techniques informed by the work of the HeartMath Institute may be offered as a primary focus in adult trainings, while remaining embedded in youth and family work.
